Enemies Unmasked | 2 Corinthians

Enemies Unmasked | 2 Corinthians

‘Enemies Unmasked’ is the fourth and final message in our October 2020 series, ‘Unmasking the Gospel’ - a series exploring 2 Corinthians. In his letter, Apostle Paul must not only unmask the Gospel that was once so clear to the Corinthians, he must also unmask those who distorted it for them. ‘For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light’. 2 Corinthians 11:13-14.

As a shepherd rising up to dispel approaching wolves, Paul writes to regather those who have been scattered and confused due to the subtle works of the enemy - the devil himself. In this message, we will see how believers have been given the necessary tools for bringing down the lying works of the enemy. In this season of Halloween masquerading, hear how the true light triumphs over the darkness when the devil and his associates are unmasked for who they really are.

Righteousness Unmasked | 2 Corinthians

Righteousness Unmasked | 2 Corinthians

Righteousness Unmasked | 2 Corinthians

The third message in our sermon series- ‘Unmasking the Gospel’ - reveals the truth about another amazing gift from God. In ‘Righteousness Unmasked’, hear how God places you into a new position the moment you put your trust in Jesus Christ, being transformed in an instant from the filthy rags of sin into a new creation clothed in a robe of righteousness.

Paul made this declaration in his letter to the church in Corinth: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV

To be a complete overcomer we must know the reality of your own righteousness in Christ. We pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal the liberating truth of this verse to you through this powerful message.

Glory Unmasked | 2 Corinthians

Glory Unmasked | 2 Corinthians

In the second message in our series entitled ‘Unmasking the Gospel’, we look at ‘Glory Unmasked’. We contrast the glory of the old covenant under the law against the new covenant of grace in Christ Jesus; the former, though glorious, faded, compared with the new one, which is eternal. The old was veiled, the new is not, and believers likewise should reflect that glory with unveiled faces in the dark world in which we live.

Grace Unmasked | 2 Corinthians

Grace Unmasked | 2 Corinthians

‘Grace Unmasked’ is the first message in our October 2020 series, ‘Unmasking the Gospel’. This new series is an exploration of the rich content of 2 Corinthians - one of several letters written by the Apostle Paul to the early Corinthian church.

In this message, we see how Paul wanted to remind his hearers of the Gospel of grace and how this grace is there to shape how we live as believers. It is a grace that allows us to live in harmony with each other and with God, as well as being positioned to overcome challenges and complete the divine assignments that God has called us to. Be encouraged as you listen today and be reminded that His grace is still sufficient for you!

However, as we unpack 1 Peter chapter 4, we read how we are not called upon to do this in our own strength, but in the power of the Holy Spirit; the Spirit of Glory who will rest upon us mightily.

Think Kingdom | 1 Peter 3

Think Kingdom | 1 Peter 3

Through the lens of the 3rd chapter of Peter’s first epistle, ‘Think Kingdom’ encourages us to remain steadfast in holiness.  It informs us on how to relate rightly to one another - as husbands and wives in marriage, and as brothers and sisters within the body of Christ.  It also urges us to respond rightly, regardless of the circumstances - however extreme - and whether they be just or unjust.

First Things First | 1 Peter 1

First Things First | 1 Peter 1

First Things First - is the second message of the new sermon series - Upon This Rock. The first chapter of 1 Peter is very much about getting our thinking right and focusing on what really matters. What Peter expounds to believers in 64 AD is still so relevant in 2020 AD - who we are; where we are from; what is waiting for us; why there are trials and challenges; how we should live and conduct our lives.

Is it your desire to be a walking, talking letter sent from God to people looking for answers? This message will assist you on that journey.

This is Peter | Introduction to 1 & 2 Peter

This is Peter | Introduction to 1 & 2 Peter

This Is Peter - launches our new sermon series - Upon This Rock. In it we get to know the author of the amazing New Testament letters, 1 & 2 Peter, it outlines why they were written and what they teach. They come from a man who both walked, and shared life, with Jesus. He was then powerfully used by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and thereafter.

This key figure used in the building of God’s church has much to tell us from firsthand experience. He encourages and prepares believers on how to face suffering and persecution, together with guidance on how to live the Christian life in a hostile world. Both letters have so much to teach us in the world in which we now live.

Represent | Acts 26-28

Represent | Acts 26-28

Having been called and appointed by the Lord Jesus Himself, not only do we see in this message that Apostle Paul was Christ’s ambassador at Rome, but also that he very much fulfilled the role of representing the Lord and re-presenting the gospel, both at Caesarea and whilst en route to his final destination.

This is the last of 8 messages in our summer sermon series ‘Simple Acts of Revival’. Working through the book of Acts, the series focuses on the early church and seeks to identify and imitate the things that were done then, in the hope and expectation that God will bring about another Awakening in our time.

Re-Establish | Acts 20-25

Re-Establish | Acts 20-25

We travel from Acts to the modern day in this message - Re-establish. The Apostle Paul had been used mightily by God in the 1st Century to establish churches and leaders all around the Mediterranean. We are now in the 21st Century and God is still using men and women to re-establish His Kingdom on the earth. The baton/mantle has been passed to the modern-day church - us! Are you ready to play your part?

As you listen we pray that God will establish in your heart His plan and purpose for you.

Reproduce | Acts 16-19

Reproduce | Acts 16-19

Do we realise the important part we have to play in building God’s church? In Acts chapters 16-19, we read about Paul’s missionary travels into lands that had not yet received the Gospel. We see how God not only continues to do a powerful work through Paul and his travelling companions but also through the newer believers like Timothy, Lydia, Silas, Aquila and Priscilla. Through the simple acts of revival done by these ordinary disciples, the church of Jesus begins reproducing disciples as it extends to new territories. As you listen to this message today, may you be empowered to see how God can likewise use your faithful service for His glory.

Recognise | Acts 8-15

Recognise | Acts 8-15

Do we really recognise the new thing God is doing in our time? In Acts chapters 8-15, we see how God began to open the door for non-Jews to receive the light of the Gospel. Through divinely orchestrated events, the early church begins to recognise their missionary calling to the Gentile world. They must also recognise the unlikely vessels that God is choosing for this new venture, such as the newly converted Saul who would become known as Apostle Paul. For us, just like the early church, there will always be new things that God is doing in our time that he expects us to see and embrace.

Recap | Acts 6-8

Recap | Acts 6-8

To Recap or Recapitulate has nothing to do with giving in to an opponent. In fact, it’s quite the opposite, and in this 4th message of the sermon series - ‘Simple Acts of Revival’ - we see that as the early Church grows, so does the level of resistance and enemy tactic towards it. Nevertheless, the disciples are relentless and continue to preach the kingdom and Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Fundamentally, while it is God who will determine if and when we will see another Awakening in our time, it is up to us, as God’s servants, to choose whether or not we will be a hindrance or a help to its progress.

Re-organise | Acts 5-6

Re-organise | Acts 5-6

As we continue to look at the early Church through the Book of Acts, in our Sermon Series 'Simple Acts of Revival, we come to a situation where the Apostles are confronted with a bias in the distribution of food to the widows. In view of the situation the Apostles see the issue requires some re-organising and through verses 1-7 of chapter 6, we see how this was achieved.

In this message we look at the steps the Apostles took to re-organise the fair distribution of food and consider how we can learn from their experience.

Release | Acts 3-4

Release - is the second instalment of the new sermon series - Simple Acts of Revival. This powerful message looks at what happens when ordinary individuals take simple steps of faith empowered by the Holy Spirit. Be amazed at what takes place in Acts chapters 3 and 4, and beyond, following God’s release of the Holy Spirit upon all flesh.

As you listen may you too be encouraged, and empowered to do simple acts of faith, and see people’s lives transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Receive | Acts 1-2

Receive | Acts 1-2

Join us this week as we begin to unpack the incredible story of the early church as told in the Acts of the apostles. In Acts chapters 1-2, we see the first generation of Jesus followers ready and poised to receive what had been promised to them - the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Though 2000 years have passed since the day of Pentecost, the same promise of this incredible power from on high remains open for us. Like the early church, this is also where we need to start to see awakening to God come in our time.

‘Receive’ is the first message in our new summer sermon series, Simple Acts of Revival!

We are going back to where it all began to bring about a brighter future. Simple Acts of Revival is a walk through the Book of Acts in the New Testament from start to finish. In this series, we will be observing what the early church did in their time so that we can begin to anticipate the actions needed for a new spiritual awakening in our time. These messages will be delivered in our Church Online Services every Sunday throughout June-July.

Continuing What Jesus Began

Continuing What Jesus Began

On the occasion of the second anniversary of One Church, this sermon goes back to the book of Acts and reminds us that God desires to do today all the things He did in the beginning! In fact as the Church of today we are called to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ in this world, expecting supernatural results as our norm! This message highlights the power and authority that God has invested in His Church and shows us that the hope for any community lies in the body of believers in that community.

Will You Be Ready? (The Parable of the Ten Virgins)

Will You Be Ready? (The Parable of the Ten Virgins)

Jesus is coming back again - we need to let the fact that Jesus could come back at any time dramatically impact the way we live today. There will only be two kinds of people when Jesus returns to this earth: those who are ready and those who are not. This sermon unpacks the Parable of the Ten Virgins and shows you how to have enough oil - how to be and live ready - for the return of Jesus.
